Jim Calvery directs the land development and entitlement process for Nicklies & Co., Inc. In this capacity Mr. Calvery coordinates entitlement and construction activities for residential, commercial, and industrial land development. Previously, Mr. Calvery served on the development team for Carter and Burgess, Inc. managing land development negotiation, civil design, and public processing. In this role, he conducted negotiations for proposed residential and commercial land development design, processing, and civil engineering. Responsibilities included the drafting of annexation and subdivision agreements and negotiation materials, and the managing of project specific engineering. His management of self-initiated land developments has included civil engineering supervision and entitlement processing.

Before joining Carter and Burgess, Mr. Calvery served as Director of Planning for the town of Bennett. While there, he managed numerous annexations and land subdivisions, including parcels in excess of 2,400 acres. Mr. Calvery negotiated and reviewed the terms, layout and planning for all development projects. He designed and implemented the Bennett Comprehensive Plan in 1999 as well as conducted plat review, site plan review and zoning ordinance revision. In addition, Mr. Calvery was responsible for creating and implementing several development related inter-governmental agreements for cooperative growth planning, development and management.

Prior to his work in Bennett, Mr. Calvery assisted the EPA in Philadelphia, PA and Denver, CO with the creation of and an implementation plan for the "Green Communities Assistance Kit," an internet tool designed to help municipal officials create a more buildable, economically, environmentally and socially sustainable community.
